We are starting with implementation of GREEN VIVO project, which will be executed with financial support from CARITAS ITALIANA (reference no. МЕ 108/21). Aim of the project is to provide response negative influences caused by Covid 19 pandemic. In project activities will be involved our homeless fellow citizens, which are trying to challenge their current social status. During the first week of implementation, following activities were carried out:
- Defined is precise time frame for implementation of project activities
- Opened is dedicated bank account that would be strictly used for purposes of GREEN VIVO project
- Published was public bid for purchase of tools that would be used during project implementation
- Purchased is domain www.greenvivo.mk and opened is facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/greenvivomk) which will be used for future promotion of biohumus that we are producing
- With our graphic designers we defined layout of printed materials that would be used during project implementation
During second week of implementation of GREEN VIVO project (which we are implementing with financial support from CARITAS ITALIANA - reference no. МЕ 108/21), performed were following activities:
- Delivered were materials that we will use for building new (third) ‘worm bed’, enlarging our capacities for biohumus production.
- Purchased were tools that will be used for implementation of this project, but also for all future activities of our Organization, assuring professional and social reintegration of people in need.
- We started preparations of our new ‘warm bed’; Before anything else, we protected from external influences boards that will be used on ‘worm bed’ sides.
- In same time, we started making stone foundation on which will be placed concrete base of our ‘warm bed’.
With this project, we are trying to decrease negative influences caused by Covid 19 pandemics, involving in our activities our homeless fellow citizens. Unfortunately, they belong to one of categories that are mostly affected from pandemic consequences.
Тhird week since introduction of our GREEN VIVO project, which is executed with financial support from CARITAS ITALIANA (reference no. МЕ 108/21). Project aims to decrease consequences of Covid 19 negative influences. Last week were performed following activities:
- We finalized preparations for placing of concrete base of new worm bed for our California worms. Depending on weather conditions, we do hope that next week our third big worm bad would be completely built.
- We started activities for fencing our parcels, protecting our biohumus production capacities from undesired visitors. Due to very high soil hardness, we will have to purchase additional tolls (within dedicated budget) that will help us on easier and proper placement of fence posts.
- We had a meeting with group of students from final year on marketing studies on University American College Skopje. In cooperation with theirs Professor Igor Atanasov (Expert for Communications, Promotion and Visibility) this group of young professionals would help us in defining strategy for future introduction of our biohumus in front of potential clients.
In implementation of this project are actively involved our homeless fellow citizens. We do believe that all their efforts would help them to reach desired professional inclusion and financial sustainability.
As per agreed action plan for GREEN VIVO project, last week was built basement for our third big ‘worm bed’ for biohumus production:
- For building concrete basement of new warm bed, we got help from young volonteers from our Organization. With theirs help, and adequate preparations, basement was finished within few hours.
- Based on acquired knowledge and experiences from building of previous two worm beds, sides on new worm bed were made by our member and friend Saše. New worm bed is new hope for him that verz soon he will surpass his current social status
Implementation of GREEN VIVO project is financially supported by CARITAS ITALIANA (reference no: МЕ 108/21). Aim of the project is to mitigate consequences of Covid 19 pandemics, with special attention on persons in need.
Last week we continued with implementation of planned activities of GREEN VIVO project (which is implemented with financial support of CARITAS ITALIANA, ref. no. МЕ 108/21), and we finished following activities:
- We have completed construction of third big ‘worm bed’, and now we are ready for transfer of first quantities of Californian worms in it.
- Due to the soil hardness, we purchased one additional tool with which we will complete planned parcels fencing. Using our new tool, results were instantly visible.
- Purchased are rubber printing pads (cliché) which will be used for forthcoming print of our plastic bags in which we pack biohumus.
Implementing activities of GREEN VIVO project, we are attempting to diminish economic consequences of Covid-19 pandemics, with focus on persons in need.
During seventh week of implementation of GREEN VIVO project, we have completed following activities:
- On May 04th 2021, in premises of Makedonski Caritas in Skopje was held meeting between personnel of Makedonski Caritas led by Director don Pavo Shekeria, Barbara Sadowska founder and President of ‘Barka’ foundation from Poland, together with Mindaugas Danys – social entrepreneurship expert, and, Dejan Stojanovic, Managing Director of Civil Society Organization In Vivo – Skopje. March this year, Barbara Sadowska was selected among 100 most influencing woman in social entrepreneurship worldwide and activities of her foundation are focused on support to persons in need (homeless, former prisoners, drug and alcohol addicts, else). On this meeting, Barbara introduced herself, activities of her foundation, and project ‘Support to social enterprises’ that she is currently implementing in Macedonia. Spase Spasov, coordinator at Makedonski Caritas, introduced to guests to structure and activities of local Caritas organization, challenges they are facing in times of pandemics and, role and Caritas perspectives toward social entrepreneurship. Ending the meeting, don Pavo Shekeria expressed gratitude for this gathering and hope for further cooperation.
- We started filling recently formed ‘worm bed’ with California worms and we continued with fencing our parcels.
- We had meeting with owner of ‘Organika Nova’, largest and most reputable biohumus producer in our country. According to their instructions, we will start constructing our own machine for biohumus sawing.
- In order to have vehicle for biohumus distribution, company ‘Jogo Merkur DOOEL’ decided to give us one of their vans. Before we take the van, company owner Goran Dabevski approved full servicing of this vehicle.

During last week, within GREEN VIVO project we have performed following activities:
- Ordered are and printed plastic bags in which we are planning to pack our biohumus.
- We have performed first tests of machines that would be used for gluing plastic bags with bio humus. Since tests were successful, gluing machines will be purchased during this week.
- We started with preparation base of spot where our machine for sowing biohumus will be placed. Adding concrete over this spot will be completed next week.
- In line with our long-term determination and strategy of our Organization, last week our representative participated on training on “Licensing of social service providers”.

Within GREEN VIVO project which is implemented with financial support of CARITAS ITALIANA (reference no. МЕ 108/21), during last week we have performed following activities:
- We brought to our production capacities new quantity of cow manure, which is actually ‘raw material’ out of which biohumus is made.
- We invited our regular adviser and contributor Zvonko Rusovski (biohumus producers with decades of experience) to make assessment of quality and quantity of our biohumus. He also provided valuable advice on organization of biohumus packing process.
- Purchased are materials and basic tools for making machine for sawing biohumus. Since we couldn’t find such machine to purchase, we decided to make it by ourselves.
- We have engaged bulldozer that enabled opening of service road on our parcels. By ‘opening’ this road, we assured easier and safer access to associates and clients to our production facilities.

During the last week, we performed the following activities within GREEN VIVO project:
- Using tools that were provided by CARITAS ITALIANA, we started preparing spot on our parcels where we would invite guests with whom we will share final results and achievements within this project.
- We continued with assembling our biohumus sawing machine; based on drawing prepared by one of our internal supporters, was ordered, constructed and mounted part that creates vibrations on the sawing machine.

During last week, within GREEN VIVO project (which is implemented with financial support from CARITAS ITALIANA - ref. no. ME 108/21) performed were following activities:
- We made styrofoam covers for our newest warm bed, trying to protect our California worms from external temperature influences. Aim is to assure uninterrupted biohumus production and worms’ productivity during summer period.
- We almost completed preparations of location where we would invite our guest for ‘Open Day’ that we are planning for June 23, 2021.
- With support of bulldozer, we extended accessing road for our friends and clients that would come from Kozjak lake direction, and we also started forming parking space for our visitors.
- Joining our and efforts of University American College Skopje students, we completed plan for future marketing promotion and placement of our biohumus.
- Organized by ‘Green social entrepreneurship network’, we have visited organization EKOVITA from Negotino, with whom we are planning joined future activities related to increasing and scalability of biohumus production.

During last week, within GREEN VIVO project performed were following activities:
- We completed preparations for placement of concrete ‘cover’ on spot where our biohumus sowing machine will be positioned.
- After placement of styrofoam covers on our newest ‘worm bed’, we started replacing styrofoam frames on our older worm beds. With this activity, we will protect our California worms from high external temperatures in summer period, assuring adequate conditions for their continuous high productivity.
- Organized by local ‘Small business chamber’ (www.sbch.org.mk), last week we were hosts to Green Social Entrepreneurship network members. After we adequately introduced our activities and we explored potentials for future co-operations with network members, with representatives of our partner organization EKOVITA from Negotino we started exploring possibility for local controlled production of oyster mushroom in ‘in-vivo’ conditions.
- With Macedonian Human Resources Association (www.mhra.mk) Memorandum for cooperation. With Association Director, Mr. Darko Petrovski and whole MHRA team we will work on improving cooperation between traditional businesses and civic society organisations, encouraging and promoting development of social entrepreneurship in our country.

During last week, within GREEN VIVO project, which is implemented with financial support from CARITAS ITALIANA (ref. no. ME 108/21), we worked on following activities:
- Invited by Father Ilija Stojanov from Makedonski, we participated in interview for Radio Maria from Strumica, where we described and promoted activities od Makedonski Caritas, project ELBA which promotes social entrepreneurship in our region, as well as, current activities of IN VIVO…
- We made small info table which we placed on main road in front of our parcels. Aim of this table is to ‘mark’ location on which we are working, and to attract attention of potential clients.
- We improved functionality and attractiveness of working space located in front of our object.
- After placement of concrete ‘cover’, we have transported, and placed our new sowing machine on spot planed for it. On our great pleasure and joy, sowing machine is working great (video)!
- First quantities of sowed biohumus are measured on small quantities (3 liters) and we started packing it in earlier purchased plastic bags.
- And… we finally have our adequately packed biohumus. Thank you for support provided CARITAS ITALIANA!!
GREEN VIVO project is contributing decreasing of economic consequences caused by Covid 19 pandemics and, it is providing possibility for sustainable (re)integration of people in need.
It is last week of implementation of GREEN VIVO project which was realized with financial support of CARITAS ITALIANA (ref. no. МЕ 108/21). Project aimed to contribute decreasing of economic consequences caused by Covid 19 pandemics and, to provide possibility for sustainable (re)integration of people in need.
Key results that were achieved with implementation of this project are:
- Increased capacities for biohumus production (from 16 to 24 small worm beds)
- Simplified is sowing of biohumus by making one big sowing machine (sowing capacity: cca 200kg/hour)
- Purchased was necessary equipment for packing of produced biohumus (plastic bags with capacity of 3 liters, cliché for plastic bags branding, machine for gluing of filled plastic bags)
- With support of group of students from American University College Skopje, defined are (at least two) options for future packing of our biohumus
- We started promoting brand GREEN VIVO, under which we will produce and sell our biohumus (we introduced new FB page (https://www.facebook.com/greenvivomk), and we purchased domain (www.greenvivo.mk))
- We performed microbiological and chemical/physical analyses of biohumus, officially confirming eligibility for its use, but also its excellent quality
- We created all pre-conditions for future commercialization of our biohumus, which will be our main goal after adding it in list of official (state) biohumus register
- Upgraded are skills of our friend and member, Sašo Spasovski (former homeless person) in handling with various tools, but also his knowledge in production and promotion of biohumus
- We engaged three external experts in adequate implementation of our current activities, but also in planning of future scalability of our production
- Improved are conditions for living and working for Saše at parcels where we are producing our biohumus, by: making inner (service) road that simplified access of cars to our parcels, fencing our parcels and finishing the terraces in front of our object
- Inviting members of marginalized groups of our fellow citizens to take a part in future sales of biohumus, in order to support their professional (re)integration and to improve their financial incomes
In order to share results achieved with implementation of GREEN VIVO project, on June 23rd 2021, we organized ‘open day’ on which we were visited more than fifty friend and supporters of our Organisation.
Our first visitors were representatives of Makedonski Caritas, and after them we were visited by:

As a small sign of appreciation to all our friends and supporters that visited us, we gave each of them one package of our biohumus.
Yesterday we were honored with a visit by representatives of #NIRAS and #МЦМС. In focus of our discussion were activities implemented with the Yoda project, which was financially supported by #CivicaMobilitas with a small grant in 2020. Our member Sasho Spasovski, who is role-model for successful reintegration, introduced our guests (Anna Cecilie Varnild, Emilie Fity, Petrus Theunisz, Darko Dimov and Goran Stamatoski) to process of biohumus production; also, he briefly presented program for sustainable inclusion of people in need that our Organization is working on. We were pleased to host group of dedicated professionals, sharing with them part of plans related to our future social entrepreneurship activities!
